“The perfect space”

“Many thanks to Muddy Road Studios for hosting Chapterhouse’s ‘Whirlpool 35’ rehearsals. It’s been the perfect space for us to prepare for our upcoming tours.

“We’ll definitely be back for the next one”

“Muddy Road Studio has something special going on. The setup is seriously impressive, and the vibe hits you the moment you walk in — relaxed, creative, and full of character. James and Ross know exactly how to get the best out of you without any pressure, which makes the whole experience feel effortless. We’ve recorded in plenty of places over the years, but this one stands out. It’s the perfect blend of professionalism and atmosphere, set in a truly unique location.

We’ll definitely be back for the next one.

“fantastic sound”

“We did our lockdown video at Muddy Road Studios. As of now it has had over 47,000 views-all positive, from all over the World. James at the studio helped us set up, he also assisted with the lights and camera angles. As well as that he produced the session and got us a fantastic sound. The whole day, which could have been a total nightmare, worked perfectly thanks to his input (and he went over and above to get the session working properly) we came out with a fantastic looking and sounding video. Cannot praise James or Muddy Road Studios enough.”

“we’ll definitely be back”

“We had an incredible time recording at The Muddy Road studios. We are so grateful to spend time together with all the amazing musicians and James who is a fantastic producer/engineer. The studio is spacious and caters for all your creature comforts e.g dining room, kitchen, bar, function room and has all the equipment that you need.

It’s set in a beautiful valley and the residential accommodation is mind blowing. The cottage we stayed in had a beautiful fireplace, and all the modern appliances. The studio is conducive for creativity as you will feel very comfortable, relaxed and disconnected from the busy world of today. The staff are friendly, accommodating and very professional. It was exceptional value for money. Thank you so much! We’ll definitely be back :)”

“our first choice for recording”

“Muddy Road is our first choice for recording. The atmosphere is laid-back with the emphasis on producing a quality product, there’s plenty of space, top notch equipment and James is not only a genius on the mixing board but also friendly, creative and adds a producer’s touch to the end result.  There’s also a cute spaniel to play with!”

“we heard ourselves as never before”

“We were all entranced by the timeless valley location in the incomparable Blackdowns.  The whole ambience of the place energised the group to produce fourteen tracks - a mixture of instrumentals and songs.

James was our dedicated mentor - both technical guide and patient friend throughout the session. We all came away with big gains in musical and production ‘know-how’ and we noticed he had spared no trouble in equipping himself to record our mixture of instruments.  The quality of reproduction meant we heard ourselves as never before. Sincere thanks for a great experience, James. Let’s do it again before long!”

“I mean, if Carlsberg did recording studios….!”

“My band have used Muddy Road Studios twice now, both separate residential stays of 3 days and excited to be heading back for our third stay in May. James, who we’ve adopted as our producer, is incredible. Always pushing us creatively, as well as from a technical aspect.

He has done a stunning job with the studio itself using an array of the very best in equipment, and now he’s finished developing the accommodation we now stay in complete luxury too. What’s not to love! And to top it off James is just a wonderful human being. I mean, if Carlsberg did recording studios….!”
